Global Appeal 2010 |

The Global Appeal 2010 to end stigma and discrimination against leprosy was launched by the Nippon Foundation, Japan in association with Sasakawa India Leprosy Foundation, New Delhi in Mumbai on 25th January 2010.
Since 2006, Yohei Sasakawa, Chairman of The Nippon Foundation, has been devoting a considerable amount of time and effort
to launch an annual Global Appeal to end discrimination and protect the human rights of people who are affected by leprosy. These appeals have been an attempt to not only raise public awareness through the media but also to draw in the support of world leaders, representatives of people affected by leprosy, and organizations concerned with human rights in general. The Global Appeal of 2010 was signed by 15 top corporate leaders of the world, including Mr. Ratan Tata, Mr. Mukesh Ambani and Mr. Keshub Mahindra from India.
